Social Security (INSS) Registration in Mozambique
Every employer in Mozambique must register with the INSS and contribute monthly for each employee. We handle enrolment and build the routine that keeps you compliant.

Registration is not optional
Social security enrolment follows company registration and the first hire. Contributions are shared between employer and employee and are declared and paid monthly, alongside payroll withholding tax.
Expatriate employees
Foreign employees are generally enrolled in the same way as nationals unless a specific exemption applies. Where a home-country scheme is also involved, we set out the position in writing before you commit to a payroll structure.
Fixing an existing gap
If contributions were missed, voluntary regularisation is almost always cheaper than being assessed during an inspection. We quantify the exposure first, then negotiate the correction.
Frequently asked questions
When must we register?
Registration is expected once the company is trading and employing. It is a prerequisite for clean payroll, work permit renewals and many tender submissions.
Do directors count as employees?
It depends on how the appointment is structured and remunerated. We review the mandate and confirm the correct treatment rather than assuming.
